Performing Arts at BCC
Bowling Community College has been providing high quality drama training for
over ten years. We offer part-time courses at times to suit working
students who are not yet sure if they want to pursue a full-time drama course.
We also welcome students who are new to performance and want to simply 'have
a go' and see what happens.
Students will experience a wide range of performance styles and genres,
working with text as well as developing improvisation and devising skills.
Whatever course you choose you will get to perform in at least two or three
short pieces or plays depending upon your level of experience.
What do students at BCC go on to do?
Most of our students choose to go on to do further drama training, BTECs, A
Levels, degrees or drama school. Others are here just to develop their
confidence or use their performance skills working with young people or with
local theatre groups.
Some students are asked to perform with Usher Street Theatre Company, (made
up of staff and ex-students) who perform at least two plays a year usually at
the Alhambra Studio in Bradford. See Usher Street page for more details.
